Chocolate folklore: marriage chocolate

In 1615 the Spanish Princess Maria Theresa was betrothed to Louis XIV of France. And she gave her fiancé an engagement gift of chocolate, packaged in an elegantly ornate chest. Their marriage was symbol of the marriage of chocolate in the Spanish-Franco culture.

Lagend of chocolate discovery


Everyone knows that chocolate has appeared more than 3000 years ago. His first explorers were the Aztecs and Maya. Both did a drink (a little differently) from the cocoa powder and water. Assuming that the chocolate drink of the gods, the Indians used it in some rituals, and sometimes chocolate replaced even the money.
